Hanukkah falls on 4 to 12 December in 2026, and the gift question usually arrives about three weeks before that. This guide covers what we make, what it costs, and the date you need to order by if you want it in hand for the first night.
Start with what the piece means, not what it costs
Most Jewish jewellery sold in the UK is plated or silver, and most of it is bought as a gesture rather than as something worn for years. A chai or a Star of David in solid gold is a different kind of gift. It is worn daily, it does not wear through, and it is usually kept.
That is the whole case for spending a little more on fewer pieces, and it is why we do not make plated versions.
If you want the background before you choose, our guide to what the chai symbol means explains the letters and the number eighteen, and the Star of David buying guide covers gold purity, chain weight and hallmarking.
The chai pendant
The Chai Life Pendant starts at £299 and runs to £1,299 depending on the metal and the size you choose. Chai is the Hebrew word for life, written with the letters chet and yud, and its letters add up to eighteen. That is why eighteen turns up so often in Jewish giving.
It is the piece we are asked for most often, and it suits someone who wants the meaning without anything showy about it.
Star of David
Two designs, both starting at £770 in solid gold.
Magen Lumière is the cleaner of the two, a flat six point star with an even line weight. It sits well on a shorter chain and reads as jewellery rather than as a statement.
Magen Kesher is the curved version, where the lines interlace rather than sit flat. It catches light differently as it moves, and it runs to £1,540 in the heavier metals.
We make both to order in our Hatton Garden workshop, and both are hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
Smaller gifts, under £300
Not every gift needs to carry a symbol. If you are buying for several people, or for someone younger, these are the pieces we send out most at this time of year.
Coralie 9k gold stone set studs, £125. Small, plain enough for daily wear, and they suit a first proper pair of gold earrings.
Brisa 9k gold gemstone studs, £125. The same idea with a coloured stone rather than a clear one.
Sabine 9k gold gemstone pendant, from £125. A single stone on a fine chain, which works as a first pendant for a child or as something quiet for an adult.
Sanna 9k gold knot studs, £255, and Clara 9k gold gemstone studs, £255, if you want a little more weight.

The chain is included in the price on every pendant. You are not buying the pendant and then discovering the chain costs extra.
Order by 7 November
This is the part that matters more than anything else on this page.
We make everything to order in Hatton Garden, and everyday pieces take two to three weeks in the workshop. Add insured tracked delivery on top of that.
Working back from the first night of Hanukkah on 4 December, 7 November is the last comfortable date to order and still have the piece in hand. After that we will be honest with you about whether it is possible rather than taking the order and hoping.
If you are later than that, email us before you buy. Some pieces are ready to ship and leave within one to two business days, and we will tell you which ones.
Sizing, and how to avoid getting it wrong
Pendants and studs are the safest gifts because neither needs a size. That is why they make up most of this guide.
If you are set on a ring, we make in sizes K to N as standard and anything outside that is made to order for you. Every Luma ring also includes one free resize in the first twelve months, so a near miss is fixable.
What we do not do
We do not do plated. We do not do silver with a gold wash. If a piece is described as gold on this site it is solid 9k, 14k or 18k, hallmarked, and it will not wear through.
We also do not have a shop you can walk into. Our Hatton Garden studio runs by appointment and it is set up as a consultation rather than a browse, so if you want to see two pendants side by side before deciding, book a time and we will have them out for you.
Questions we get asked
Is the chain included? Yes, on every pendant. The price you see is the piece and the chain.
What gold do you use? Solid 9k, 14k and 18k in yellow, white and rose, and 950 platinum on selected pieces. Everything is hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
How long does it take? Everyday pieces are ready in two to three weeks. Engagement rings take four to six weeks and full bespoke commissions six to eight weeks from sign off.
Can I have it engraved? Ask us before you order. Engraved pieces cannot be returned, so we will talk it through with you first.
Where are you? 13 Hatton Place, London EC1N 8RU, by appointment.
