How do you clean a lab grown diamond ring at home?

The simplest method is warm water, a drop of washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush. Soak the ring for ten to fifteen minutes, then gently brush around the setting, the underside of the diamond and the prongs where dirt builds up. Rinse with clean warm water and pat dry with a lint free cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, ammonia and ultrasonic cleaners unless your jeweller has confirmed the setting can handle them, because vibration can loosen stones and harsh cleaners can dull the metal over time. Do this once a fortnight if you wear the ring daily, more often if you use a lot of hand cream or wash your hands frequently.

Lab grown diamonds are chemically identical to mined diamonds and clean exactly the same way. For a deeper professional clean, most jewellers offer a free service, and at Luma we include it for life.
