Engagement Ring Trends in 2026
Ring trends shift every year, but 2026 has some clear directions. Here is what we are seeing across our orders and the wider industry.
Oval solitaires still dominate
Oval has been the most requested shape for three years running and shows no sign of slowing down. The combination of brilliance, perceived size and finger flattering proportions makes it a reliable choice. Most of our oval orders are set in white gold or platinum solitaires with a thin band that lets the stone do the talking.
Three stone rings are making a comeback
The three stone setting, sometimes called a trilogy, has surged in popularity. The traditional version uses a larger centre stone flanked by two smaller stones. Modern variations play with mixed shapes: a round centre with pear side stones, or an emerald centre with trapezoid accents.
Nature inspired designs
Vine, leaf and organic flowing designs have moved from niche to mainstream. These settings wrap around the diamond with a sense of movement rather than the rigid geometry of a classic solitaire or halo. They appeal to people who want something that feels personal and less conventional.
East to west settings
Traditionally, elongated shapes like oval, emerald and marquise are set north to south (pointing up and down the finger). The east to west trend rotates them 90 degrees, setting them horizontally across the finger. It is a subtle change that makes a familiar shape feel completely different.
Mixed metals
Two tone rings are gaining traction. A yellow gold band with a white gold or platinum head (the part that holds the diamond) combines the warmth of gold with the clean, bright backdrop that white metal provides for the stone.
Lab grown as the default
This is less of a trend and more of a shift. Lab grown diamonds are now the majority of engagement ring sales across the industry. The conversation has moved from "should I consider lab grown?" to "why would I not?" The quality is identical, the ethics are clearer and the value is significantly better.
